With a moderate fast action backed up with substantial power, you’ve got a bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, chunking machine. They have just the right action/power ratio across the board to make your offshore fishing goals a reality. Dark Matter HK Rods are now built on our F2000 Nano Carbon blank technology that is the next step in fishing rods. Lightweight, powerful and fishes great! Inspired by refurbished classic cars from the 70s, we painted them blank Black Cherry Pearl Metallic which turned out amazing. It really pops in the sunlight. We outfitted the HK with Fuji Alconite K Guides, custom contoured high grade EVA fore and rear grip for outstanding comfort, an ALPs aluminum reel seat and aluminum gimble butt end.

With the redesign we’ve also renamed the powers to X and Z. The X is the perfect rod for light offshore fishing. We’re talking small tuna, mahi, grouper, snapper and other similar fish. The Z is going to be your chunk/troll rod. Pair it with a Shimano Talica 25, Avet HXW Raptor or other similar sized reel and you are good to go hunt tuna and small billfish!
